Each howto below walks a single Windows job with links back to GitHub Releases for rustdesk/rustdesk. Start with install if you have not launched a session yet. Prefer one update door. Skip Softonic-style wrappers. After a peer session moves the mouse, deepen with self-host, unattended access, or file transfer as needed.
Asset names stay patterned as rustdesk-*-x86_64.exe, rustdesk-*-x86_64.msi, and rustdesk-*-aarch64.exe. Public copy says the current release and injects the live tag rather than hardcoding dotted versions. Licence text is AGPL-3.0 on the repo. Client docs live on rustdesk.com for Network fields and Pro API notes.
Borrowed lab PCs may block unknown executables. Use a machine you control when you need a clean path. Sleep policies kill sessions before codecs matter. Wake both peers, confirm Your ID, and keep the original download so a reinstall does not require hunting a new mirror.
Comparison shape with AnyDesk lives on its own page without inventing seat counts. Troubleshooting covers offline peers, SmartScreen prompts, and wrong architecture picks. Update and uninstall notes keep Apps and features as the removal door for installed builds.
