Who writes it
A small editorial team publishes Windows install guidance for RustDesk. The team does not ship a fork of the binary. Install doors and features are verified against the GitHub repo, licence text, and release notes.
Independence line: Remote desktop is an independent install guide for RustDesk on Windows. It links every installer to GitHub Releases for rustdesk/rustdesk.
How guides are verified
Each review re-reads GitHub Releases asset names, the project README, AGPL-3.0 licence text, and client docs when a new tag appears. Commands that were not executed on a physical Windows PC stay marked UNVERIFIED in RESEARCH.md until a real run confirms them. There is no winget CopyRow on this guide.
Why this product
Criteria: public source, AGPL-3.0 licence text, clear Windows exe and msi assets on GitHub, and practical peer connect for everyday remote access work. If a better-maintained Windows option appears with clearer packaging for the same job, editorial updates would say so.

Corrections
Wrong asset names, stale links, or accessibility problems go through contact. Factual errors get fixed after verification against upstream sources.
